ASTON VILLA want Eidur Gudjohnsen

ASTON VILLA are eyeing up Icelandic international Eidur Gudjohnsen.

The on-loan Monaco striker only scored twice but impressed with his link-up play to help Spurs reach the Champions League.
The ex-Chelsea ace is keen to stay in the Premier League but Spurs have not moved to keep him for next season.
And O'Neill could now swoop to bring him to Villa Park on a season-long loan.
Gudjohnsen, 31, failed to find the net with Monaco before moving on and previously netted only 10 goals in 72 appearances for Barcelona.
But O'Neill is mindful that his best spells came in the Premier League, where he almost averaged a goal every three games in 237 appearances for Bolton and Chelsea. Gudjohnsen's arrival at Villa Park could mean the departure of England striker Emikle Heskey.
Stoke are ready to move for the out-of-favour Heskey with James Beattie heading out.
Heskey has been a regular on the Villa bench recently behind John Carew, But the big Three Lions striker could fit the bill at Stoke, who are thought to have had a bid for West Ham's Carlton Cole rejected.
Villa boss Martin O'Neill put six players up for sale last week and although Heskey was not among them, the former Liverpool player's future is uncertain.
Heskey may be part of Fabio Capello's plans but he only netted five times for Villa last season after his £3.5million move from Wigan 18 months ago.
Beattie could move to West Brom while fellow Potters hitman Dave Kitson may interest Wolves.
