CHELSEA wanted to sign Germany's whizkid midfielder Mesut Ozil

CHELSEA have pulled out of the race to sign Germany's whizkid midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The Premier League champs reckon the Werder Bremen star, 21, is bound for Bayern Munich.
But the Blues are still keen on Stuttgart's German midfielder Sami Khedira, 23.
Portuguese defender Fabio Coentrao and speedy Spanish winger Pedro were also on Chelsea's World Cup radar.
