Man Utd and City in the race for Inter Milan's whizkid striker Mario Balotelli

MANCHESTER UNITED could go head-to-head with neighbours City in the race for Inter Milan's whizkid striker Mario Balotelli.

Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini has the teenager on his wanted list for this summer.
The Premier League's big spenders are yet to make an offer.
But if they do, they could find themselves caught up in a bidding war with their rivals from Old Trafford after the Serie A giants confirmed there is interest from both clubs.
New San Siro boss Rafa Benitez is in no rush to sell the talented but temperamental Balotelli as he plans for his first season in Italy.
But Inter's technical director Marco Branca said: "We are fortunate to have good players so it's normal big teams in Europe are thinking about them. There is interest from Manchester United and from Manchester City in Balotelli.
"But it is very early to say if there will be any business done.
"Inter are in first position and we have to think about our future."
Alex Ferguson has already signed Mexican strike star Javier Hernandez, 22, this summer but the South American may not be ready to challenge for the first team straight away.
But Balotelli has been a regular first-teamer at Inter and may be ready to walk straight into the United side.
The 19-year-old has been a mainstay of the Italian Under-21 team recently and is tipped to make the step up to the national side after their World Cup flop.
