TEVEZ has urged Fernando Torres to join him at Manchester City

CARLOS TEVEZ has urged Fernando Torres to join him at Manchester City.

Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini admitted at the weekend he wants to sign the Liverpool striker.
And Tevez reckons they could become the deadliest duo in the Premier League.
The Argie said: "Torres would definitely make us better. He's one of the top strikers in the world and I would love to have him as a team-mate.
"Last year we ended up contesting the Champions League places. I have no doubt that this year we will achieve that aim and fight for the title.
"The club will pick up reinforcements and this will make us stronger.
"I know I've never regretted coming to City. It's the best decision I ever made."
However Kop boss Roy Hodgson insists World Cup-winning ace Torres is staying put.
The ex-Fulham chief feared losing the £50million-rated starbut he is now excited about welcoming the Spaniard back to Melwood next week.
Hodgson, whose season starts tomorrow at Macedonian side Rabotnicki in Europa League qualifying, said: "He's told us he's looking forward to Monday.
"Looking forward to getting back to work and looking forward to playing for Liverpool next season.
"He's enjoying a well-deserved holiday, his first in three years."
Hodgson has told Javier Mascherano he can quit Anfield only if a mega-bucks offer comes in for him.
Rafa Benitez is keen to be reunited with the Argentine midfielder at Inter Milan.
Hodgson said: "Javier made it clear he wants to leave, which is always disappointing.
"He wanted to leave a year ago and he wants to now.
"Whether he leaves or not is our decision.
"Mascherano has a two-year contract and I expect him to honour it until the day comes when the club decides to accept an offer for his services."
